A databse has been created on the Northern Ireland Electronic Care Record which will manage referrals to, and record the outcome from, the Cardiac Surgery/Cardiology MDMs held on Tuesday and Friday afternoons in the Belfast Trust. This groundbreaking development will greatly facilitate the mangement of patients with complex heart disease from all over Northern Ireland and will allow the outcome of multidisciplinary discussions on the best treatment for an individual patient to be immediately available to the doctors looking after that patient wherever they may be.
