The Cardiac Surgery Unit in the Royal Victoria Hospital is the sole provider for cardiac surgery in Northern Ireland. Its focus is on delivery of a high quality service to patients with elective and emergency cardiac conditions requiring surgery. It has a strong training ethos for nurses, surgeons, anaesthetists and technical staff to build for the future provision of the service.
